Boeing 747 - Super Rare One of a Kind Wheel Coffee Table

This exceptional piece of furniture has been skilfully crafted from a very rare Boeing 747-200 aircraft main wheel. According to data available as of June 2023, there are merely 19 of these aircraft still in active service. The wheel in question reached the end of its commercial life while serving on G-MKGA, which was an MK Airlines cargo Boeing 747-2R7F with the serial number 21650, originally manufactured in 1979. What makes this wheel's history even more remarkable is that it made its final landing at Cotswold Airport, where it remained for several years and was occasionally repurposed as a venue for events before being dismantled in late 2022.

After undergoing a painstaking restoration process, involving the meticulous removal of all previous finishes down to the bare metal, every contour, peak, and indentation on the wheel received thorough media blasting. Following this, the wheel was coated with a base layer of super chrome, which was followed by the application of two additional coats of candy apple red, resulting in a striking colour and an impressive finish. The bolts were thoughtfully finished in jet black to complement the wheel's vibrant red appearance.

As an additional artistic element, a 3D-printed centre cone was incorporated to symbolically link the wheel to the aircraft from which it made its last landing on. Below the wheel, an array of LED lights was carefully installed, creating a captivating backlighting effect. To conclude this distinctive piece, a 10mm thick glass top was crafted in a diamond shape, featuring unique chamfered edges that elegantly tie together all the elements. This extraordinary work of art is genuinely one-of-a-kind and is sure to become the focal point in any room.
